About Nurturing Little Souls
During my sons’ early years, I read more than my share of parenting books yet none of them offered ideas on how to nurture their spirituality. There was plenty of advice about developing a child’s mind – babies like bold black-and-white pictures to look at and white noise similar to that heard in the womb. And lots about caring for their body – no synthetic fabrics and don’t let your baby get overtired. But nothing on nurturing their spirit. A whole aspect of my children’s lives was overlooked – the largest aspect, I would argue. I knew that tending to their spirituality was essential to my boys’ thriving but I didn’t know how to go about it. So, I started writing about it to uncover wisdom for myself. You can read what I’ve been discovering on my blog, Nurturing Little Souls.
Once I started writing, I quickly came to the realisation that spirituality is not separate from everyday life, it is an aspect of everything we do. My posts are about how the ordinary moments we have with our children can be used to encourage and support their well-being. They are a blend of anecdotes, soul-searching and practical ideas.
I follow no single spiritual tradition, I write from my heart and embrace all loving perspectives. The words I choose and my world view may differ a little from yours but, if my writing prompts you to reflect on your own parenting and gives you practical ways to nurture your children’s spirituality, I will have done what I set out to do.
Much love to you and your little souls,
