My two boys, my little souls, are Jake (7) and Thomas (4). When I became a parent, I knew that, in order for my children to thrive, I needed to parent every part of them – mind, body & soul. Through my training and experience as a primary school teacher, I felt I had a good understanding of the cognitive and physcial development of children but I didn’t know much about spiritual development.
So, I have spent a number of years exploring how to support my children’s spiritual wellness, how to pass on Love-based values and what it really means to love them unconditionally. Guided by my intuition and a readiness to learn from my “mistakes”, it has become clearer to me what I need to do as a parent to really help my children be confident, capable and caring.
Now that I am further along on my soulful parenting journey, I am keen to support other parents who are travelling along a similar path. Currently, I do this through my blog and my weekly newsletter. One of my goals for 2018 is to get out from behind my keyboard to connect with parents in-person too. I want to use the perspective I’ve gained as a mother and the skills I developed as a teacher to support parents through challenges in a way that empowers them and their children.
