My two boys, my little souls, are Jake (6) and Thomas (3). I am a stay-at-home-mum and, before parenthood, was a primary school teacher. I live in Wellington, New Zealand, a city I love for its hills, harbour, cafes and culture. I write my posts early in the mornings, before my family wakes up, or while Thomas takes his afternoon nap.
Whether mothering or teaching, my passion has always been to create a relationship with each child in my care that supports their flourishing & thriving. It has only been over the past few years that I have understood that this is essentially a spiritual job. My intention is to show my boys the power they have within themselves for love, joy & peace.
As a child, I loved writing stories and I have filled many journals over the years with my personal reflections but this is the first time I’ve written for an audience. I’m also interested in writing children’s books to bring some of the concepts I blog about directly to children. So, writing fills almost all of my limited spare time at the moment. For exercise, I like to go for walks or do a few yoga stretches. Reading a book (the old-fashioned, paper type) with a cup of coffee has long been my favourite way to relax.
